Best MProfit alternative

The best MProfit alternative for a family whose portfolio does not need a chartered accountant's report is WealthGamma. It imports the same broker tradebooks and CAS statements, tracks stocks, funds, gold, PPF, FDs, property and loans for every member on their own PAN, works out capital-gains tax before you sell, and adds goals and projections MProfit does not have, for a one-time ₹2,999 instead of ₹18,000 a year. Value Research is the nearest free tracker.

MProfit is the most thorough capital-gains reporter in India, and since June 2025 its cheapest plan is ₹18,000 a year plus GST. WealthGamma tracks a family's net worth with tax before you sell and projections ahead, for ₹2,999 once.

Why MProfit users are looking for an alternative

Most people searching for an MProfit alternative are not unhappy with the software. They are priced out of it. MProfit's archived pricing pages show what happened, and its App Store reviews from 2024 to 2026 say the rest.

  • Cheapest plan went from free (2023) to ₹18,000/yr plus GST since June 2025
  • Priced by portfolio size, which reviewers call charging by net worth
  • Non-stock/fund assets go in via Excel templates; MF sync has a monthly quota
  • No planning layer: no projections, no goals with a target, no tax-loss harvesting
  • Support by email/callback; 2025-2026 reviewers mention slow replies

TLDR: Portfolio accounting for HNIs/CAs: 700+ broker imports, ITR/ClearTax/Winman capital-gains reports with grandfathering and indexation, from ₹18,000/yr plus GST.

Gaps: no free plan and no tier under ₹18,000/yr, no projections or retirement view, goals are just transaction tags, other assets need templates.

WealthGamma imports the same tradebooks and CAS plus any CSV, tax before you sell, goals and projections included, ₹2,999 once instead of ₹18,000/yr.

MProfit is excellent accounting software and its capital-gains reports are more thorough than ours; nothing on this page says otherwise. The comparison is about price and about what a family needs beyond a report.

Price takeaway

MProfit's HNI plan is ₹18,000 a year plus GST, with nothing below it, and the wealth plan for advisers starts at ₹6,000 a month. WealthGamma's free plan tracks one portfolio with no expiry; the lifetime plan is ₹2,999 once for the family view, tax and projections, with 14 days to get your money back. Six years of MProfit buys forty lifetime plans.

Key differences

MProfit and WealthGamma differ in four ways: who it is for (HNIs, family offices and CAs versus families), what it produces (accounting reports for filing versus a plan for the years ahead), how data gets in (700 broker formats and Excel templates versus files you upload with a mapping set once), and price (₹18,000 a year by portfolio size versus ₹2,999 once).

Accounting for a CA vs a plan for a family

MProfit's output is a report: capital gains in ITR, ClearTax and Winman formats, with grandfathering and indexation, across PMS, AIF and F&O. WealthGamma's output is a number and a plan: what the family is worth today, what a sale costs in tax, whether the goals are funded, and where the number goes over twenty years. How projections work.

Tax to file vs tax before you sell

Both show unrealised gains before a sale. MProfit's strength is the filing side: ISIN-level reports a CA can drop into tax software. WealthGamma's is the decision side: FIFO lots, LTCG and STCG and the ₹1.25 lakh exemption per PAN on the exact units you are about to sell, plus tax-loss harvesting suggestions before 31 March. How the capital-gains tax planner works.

Templates and quotas vs a file you upload

MProfit reads contract notes from 700 or more brokers, and everything else comes in through Excel templates; mutual fund auto-sync uses a monthly quota of statement refreshes. WealthGamma reads the Zerodha, Groww, Upstox and Angel One tradebooks, the CAMS, KFintech and NSDL CAS, and any CSV with a mapping you set once. Importing any CSV or Excel file.

₹18,000 a year by portfolio size vs ₹2,999 once

MProfit prices by how much you own: ₹18,000 a year plus GST under ₹25 crore, more above it, and nothing cheaper since the Lite and Plus plans were withdrawn in June 2025. WealthGamma prices by what you use: a free plan with no expiry, and a lifetime plan from ₹2,999 with everything in it. Plans and what they include.

Which should you use?

Use WealthGamma when

You want one number for the whole family's wealth, the tax on a sale known before you place it, goals with a monthly gap and the next twenty years projected from real holdings, at a price that does not depend on how much you own.

Choose WealthGamma if

  • Family portfolios: spouse, parents, children, each on their own PAN
  • Stocks, funds, gold, PPF, flat and home loan, not PMS or F&O
  • Tax known before you sell, with harvesting suggestions
  • Goals with a monthly gap, funded by real holdings
  • Net worth projected decades ahead
  • Dividend calendar: earned and upcoming
  • A file uploaded once a month, mapping set once
  • One price, whatever the portfolio size

Use MProfit when

You hold PMS, AIF, F&O or unlisted shares, file through a CA who wants ClearTax or Winman files, and a ₹18,000 a year accounting tool with a relationship manager is a rounding error on the portfolio.

Choose MProfit if

  • PMS, AIF, F&O, bonds or international assets to account for
  • A CA who wants ClearTax or Winman files
  • Reports across a family office with Tally
  • A relationship manager on call
  • ₹18,000 a year is small next to the portfolio

Who should not switch to WealthGamma?

WealthGamma tracks and plans; it does not trade, sync or publish news. Four needs are better served elsewhere, and this list is meant literally: if one of these matters, do not switch.

  • Buying and selling inside the app
  • Automatic syncing by linking brokers or sharing an inbox
  • US stocks, or crypto priced live from exchanges
  • Market news and research next to the portfolio

If that is you, one of the trackers below is the better fit.

Questions MProfit users ask before switching

Short answers to the six questions MProfit users ask most, from why the price changed to what happens to your capital-gains history when you move.

How much does MProfit cost?

The HNI plan is ₹18,000 a year plus GST for portfolios under ₹25 crore, with two logins and twenty mutual fund statement refreshes a month. Family offices above ₹25 crore are priced on request. The wealth plan for advisers starts at ₹6,000 a month plus GST. There is no free plan and no cheaper plan; Lite at ₹2,400 a year and Plus at ₹6,000 a year were withdrawn in June 2025.

Why did MProfit's price go up?

MProfit repositioned from a retail tracker to software for HNIs, family offices and CAs. Its archived pricing pages show a free plan in January 2023, Lite and Plus plans through May 2025, and only HNI and Family Office plans from June 2025. Reviewers who paid about ₹3,500 a year earlier describe the new pricing as charging by portfolio value.

What is the best alternative to MProfit?

For a family that wants net worth, tax before you sell, goals and projections at a one-time price, WealthGamma. For a free tracker with fund research attached, Value Research. For ITR filing with broker imports rather than ongoing tracking, Quicko or ClearTax. If you hold PMS, AIF or F&O and file through a CA, MProfit is still the right tool.

Can I export my data from MProfit?

Yes. Every report, including transactions, holdings, income and capital gains, downloads as Excel or PDF from the web and mobile apps. For a clean move, export the transaction report per portfolio; it carries the buy dates and prices any tracker needs to rebuild your cost basis.

How do I move from MProfit to WealthGamma?

Either export the transaction report from MProfit and import it as a CSV, mapping the columns once, or go to the source: the tradebook from each broker and the CAS from CAMS or KFintech for funds. In WealthGamma, Settings, Import Data reads Zerodha, Groww and CAS files as they are. Every buy keeps its date and price.

Does WealthGamma produce ITR-format reports?

It produces a capital-gains report per PAN and financial year with FIFO lots, LTCG and STCG and the exemption applied, which you or your CA can use for the schedule. It does not export ClearTax, Winman or other tax-software formats. If your CA needs those files specifically, MProfit or Quicko is the better fit for filing.
