Best ET Portfolio alternative
The best ET Portfolio alternative for most Indian investors is WealthGamma. It tracks the same NSE and BSE stocks and mutual funds ET Portfolio did, adds gold, PPF, FDs, property and loans for every family member on their own PAN, imports the CSV ET emails you, and exports to CSV at any time. Moneycontrol Portfolio Manager is the nearest free like-for-like.
ET Portfolio was removed from the ET Markets app in June 2026 with no export. WealthGamma tracks the same stocks and funds, plus everything else a family owns, and imports the file ET emails you.

Why ET Portfolio users are looking for an alternative
If the Portfolio tab in ET Markets is not showing, your ET Portfolio has not disappeared by mistake. The Economic Times discontinued it in June 2026. Everyone searching for "ET portfolio shut down" or "ET Markets portfolio not showing" is hitting the same removal, and the complaints in the app's reviews are the same three.
- The Portfolio tab vanished, taking five to seven years of entries with it
- No export button, no warning; data only by emailing support and waiting
- Bulk upload rarely worked, so most history was typed in one trade at a time
TLDR: Free with ET Markets: one person's stocks and funds, priced daily, next to market news.
Gaps: no family view, no gold/PPF/property, no tax before a sale, no working import or export, and now removed entirely.
WealthGamma tracks the same holdings plus everything else a family owns, imports the file ET emails you, exports anytime, free plan with no expiry.

Price takeaway
ET Portfolio was free, and it is gone. WealthGamma's free plan tracks one portfolio with no expiry. The lifetime plan is ₹2,999 once, for the family view, the tax planner and projections, with 14 days to get your money back.
How to export ET Portfolio data and import it into WealthGamma
Switching from ET Portfolio takes three steps and about an hour: export your transactions from ET or download them from your broker, import the file into WealthGamma, and confirm the preview. Every buy keeps its date and price, so your gains, XIRR and capital-gains tax are computed from real history rather than from today's holdings.
- 01
Export your transactions, not just your holdings
ET Portfolio has no export button; the only way to download your data is to write to ET Markets support, via Help and Feedback in the app, and ask for every transaction: date, symbol, quantity, price, buy or sell. A holdings list only tells you what you own today. The transactions carry your buy dates and cost, which is what capital-gains tax and XIRR are calculated from.
- 02
Get it from your broker instead, if ET is slow
Your broker never lost anything. Download the Zerodha tradebook from Console, or the order history from Groww, Upstox or Angel One. For mutual funds, request the CAS from CAMS or KFintech: one PDF with every fund transaction across all your folios.
- 03
Import, map the columns once, confirm
In WealthGamma go to Settings, Import Data. Zerodha and CAMS files import as they are. For ET's file choose Other Broker (CSV / Excel), match each column to a field, preview what will be added, then confirm. The mapping is remembered for next time.
Step-by-step help with screenshots: any CSV or Excel, Zerodha, CAMS or KFintech CAS.
Key differences
ET Portfolio and WealthGamma differ in four ways: scope (one person's stocks and funds versus a family's entire net worth including gold, PPF, property and loans), tax (gain and loss only versus FIFO capital-gains tax before you sell), data entry (manual typing versus file import), and durability (bundled with a news app versus subscription-funded with CSV export).
One list vs a family's net worth
ET Portfolio showed one person's stocks and funds. WealthGamma adds gold, PPF, FDs, the flat and the home loan, for every family member on their own PAN, so the number on screen is what the family is actually worth. How the net worth tracker works.
Gain and loss vs tax before you sell
ET Portfolio told you a holding was up 40%. WealthGamma also tells you what that sale costs in tax, lot by lot under FIFO, with the ₹1.25 lakh LTCG exemption applied per PAN, before you place the order. How the capital-gains tax planner works.
Manual entry vs file import
ET Portfolio users report bulk upload rarely worked, so most typed transactions in. WealthGamma imports the Zerodha tradebook, Groww and Upstox exports, the CAMS or KFintech CAS, and any CSV or Excel file with a column mapping you set once. Importing any CSV or Excel file.
Bundled with a news app vs paid for by you
ET Portfolio survived as long as it suited a news app. WealthGamma is paid for by subscriptions, and every account can export everything to CSV from Settings at any time, so no update can switch your history off. Family portfolios and goals.
Which should you use?
Use WealthGamma when
You want one number for the whole family's wealth: stocks, mutual funds, gold, PPF, FDs, property and loans, every member on their own PAN, with capital-gains tax and projections worked out from your real transactions, in an app you pay for once.
Choose WealthGamma if
- Family portfolios: spouse, parents, children, each on their own PAN
- Tax known before you sell
- Flat, PPF and home loan counted too
- Goals funded by your real investments
- Net worth projected decades ahead
- Dividend calendar: earned and upcoming
- File upload, never a broker login
- Download all your data any time
Who ET Portfolio suited
You wanted a free list of stocks and funds beside the day's market news, for one person, with nothing to set up, inside the ET Markets app you already had open.
If that was you
- A free list next to the news: Moneycontrol
- One person's stocks and funds only: Moneycontrol
- Everything synced automatically: INDmoney
- Mostly mutual funds, bought in-app: Kuvera
- Typing in each transaction: any free tracker below
Who should not switch to WealthGamma?
WealthGamma tracks and plans; it does not trade, sync or publish news. Four needs are better served elsewhere, and this list is meant literally: if one of these matters, do not switch.
- Buying and selling inside the app
- Automatic syncing by linking brokers or sharing an inbox
- US stocks, or crypto priced live from exchanges
- Market news and research next to the portfolio
If that is you, one of the trackers below is the better fit.
Other ET Portfolio alternatives worth knowing
Five trackers ET Portfolio users move to, with the price, who each suits and the catch. Moneycontrol is the closest like-for-like replacement. MProfit is the most thorough on tax and the most expensive. INDmoney and Kuvera are free because they earn elsewhere.
| Tracker | Price | Best for | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| WealthGamma | Free plan; lifetime from ₹2,999 | A family's whole net worth, per PAN, with tax before you sell and projections ahead. | No trading, no auto-sync, no US stocks, no news. |
| Moneycontrol Portfolio Manager | Free | Someone who wants the closest thing to ET Portfolio: a free stock and fund list inside a news site. | Reviewers report you cannot bulk-upload sell transactions, so history has to be entered one sale at a time. |
| Value Research | Part of Value Research premium, about ₹5,000 a year | Mutual fund investors who want deep fund analysis with the tracker. | Paid yearly, and stocks are secondary to funds. |
| INDmoney | Free | Someone who wants everything auto-synced and does not mind how. | It reads your email and links to brokers to do it, so a third party holds your financial data. |
| Kuvera | Free | Direct fund investors who want a sell preview and family accounts in a free app. | Funds only; extras cost coins, and reviewers report missing features since the April 2026 CRED redesign. |
| Groww | Free for mutual funds; ₹20 per stock order | Someone who wants direct funds and a stock broker in one free app, with outside funds imported via MF Central. | A broker first; tracking outside holdings is basic and there is no net worth view. |
| ET Money | Free; Genius membership is paid | Direct mutual fund investors who want fund analysis and a simple tracker in one app. | Owned by 360 ONE since 2024; funds first, stocks secondary, and the app sells products. |
| MProfit | ₹18,000 a year plus GST; no cheaper plan since June 2025 | HNIs, family offices and CAs who need capital-gains reports in ITR, ClearTax and Winman formats across 700 or more brokers. | Priced by portfolio size, no free plan, and no goals, projections or harvesting. |

ET Portfolio shut down: what users are asking
Short answers to the six questions ET Portfolio users have asked most since the tracker was removed in June 2026, from whether it is really gone to what stops the same thing happening again.
Has ET Portfolio shut down?
Yes. ET Portfolio, the portfolio tracker inside The Economic Times' ET Markets app and on economictimes.com, was removed in a June 2026 app update with no notice and no export option. It is not the same product as ET Money, which is run by a different company and still operates.
How do I export or download my ET Portfolio data?
ET Portfolio has no export button. The only way to download your data is to email ET Markets support and ask for it; some users report receiving a file by email after writing in. Ask for every transaction with date, symbol, quantity and price, not only current holdings, so your buy dates and cost basis survive the move.
What is the best alternative to ET Portfolio?
For a single stock-and-fund list, Moneycontrol's free portfolio manager is the nearest like-for-like. For a family's whole net worth, with each member on their own PAN, tax before you sell and projections ahead, WealthGamma is built for exactly that and imports any CSV.
Can WealthGamma import the file ET sends?
Yes. Settings, Import Data, Source: Other Broker (CSV / Excel) accepts any CSV or Excel file. You map each column to a field once: symbol, date, quantity, price, buy or sell. If the file only lists current holdings, rebuild the history from your broker's tradebook or your CAMS statement instead.
Is WealthGamma free like ET Portfolio was?
There is a free plan with no expiry and no card: one portfolio with unlimited stocks, mutual funds and gold priced daily, one SIP, one goal and one loan. Family portfolios, projections and the tax planner are on paid plans, including a one-time lifetime plan, all with a 14-day money-back guarantee.
What stops WealthGamma from shutting down the same way?
Two things you can check. Every account can export all its data to CSV from Settings at any time, so you are never locked in. The product is paid for by subscriptions rather than advertising or investors, which is why it does not need to be bundled with a news app to survive. Both are described on the About page.
