How do I link a loan to an asset?

A home loan and the home it bought are two sides of one thing. Link them, and WealthGamma shows what you truly own after the debt: your net equity.

Link the loan

When you add or edit a loan, use the Linked Asset field to point it at the asset it financed. It's optional. The placeholder reads None (optional), but linking unlocks the equity view.

Read the equity

Once linked, the loan's page shows a strip with the Asset Value, the Outstanding loan, and the Net Equity between them, the same strip appears on the asset's page as its linked loan.

Net Equity is the asset's value minus what you still owe on it.

Note: If the loan is larger than the asset is currently worth, the Net Equity turns negative and is flagged Underwater: a useful heads-up on anything financed heavily.
